Education
Attended Notre Dame College where I received a bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry.  I received a Masters Degree in Education from Sacred Heart University in 1998.  I have also taken many elective courses at the University of Connecticut, Southern Connecticut State University and Three Rivers.

Experience

I have been teaching for 15 years in the New London Public School system.  I was part of the curriculum committee for the magnet school and taught the first class of the magnet school in NLHS.  The students were active participants in the construction of the school and attended classes wearing hard hats in the developing building as the architects explained the design. I coached soccer and track while teaching at NLHS and worked in the athletic office as an assistant to the athletic director. I also coached basketball at the middle school level and assisted with my daughters' AAU team.  Prior to teaching I worked at Yale University in the Department of Human Genetics as a cytogenetics research assistant.  I then stayed home and raised our three children and started working at Clark Lane Middle School.  It was there that I became interested in teaching and went on to pursue my masters degree in education.
