“Science and Technology Magnet High School Students Interact with Astronaut Aboard the International Space Station”
Thursday, February 02, 2012

Through collaboration with the United States Coast Guard Academy and STMHS, students were given the opportunity to interact with an astronaut, 236 miles above the Earth, aboard the International Space Station (ISS).   Several STMHS students were selected to ask questions directly to ISS Commander, Dan Burbank and have him answer their questions on live television. The New London Public School’s Technology Department set up a Cisco audio connection bridged to the United States Coast Guard and a video connection directly to NASA. This connection linked STMHS to the space station. Located in the lecture hall was a 16 foot screen with a live feed of the event for viewing.  To view the live feed from the event click here.
